Hay House Updates – Data and Images

Hay House sends Data email notices when files and images are uploaded.

IMPORTANT: Before processing data files, do a HiPoint Blurb Dump.

DATA FILES

Download data files from our FTP site to G:\PUBLISHER DATA\HAY HOUSE

If necessary, convert the file to the new Excel format, xlsx

In Access (Data Tools db): Open Hay House processing form and go through all the steps

When you update the Hay House Pricing Log, email the accountant (Vicki) with the subject line: Hay House Pricing Log has been updated

After you create the Hay House Price Difference file, email the accountant with the subject line: Hay House Price Diff file has been created

After you create the new Hay House title file, clean it up for import into HiPoint (if more than a couple of titles, which can be entered manually):

• Save to HiPoint Imports\Drafts with the name yymmdd_HayHouse_New.xls
• Clean up the file: blurbs with html code; dirty and clean titles; delete double entries; add BISAC-subj; check if old editions and add revised if needed; change round to square brackets in bisac-subj-sec[1]; check date formatting; if CD, add CD to dirty and clean title, if cloth add (Cloth) to clean title, change *BOOK to * CD and add HST-P (anything not a book), add deck or set to clean title, authors Last, First
• Email Penny to let her know there’s a new file for import to HiPoint

File the Hay House file YEAR_Downloads

IMAGE FILES

Download image files from our FTP site to G:\PUBLISHER DATA\HAY HOUSE

Check new images against what we have on our website.

Process images using Photoshop Elements. Batch process whenever possible. Make sure you add a border around white covers.

Upload any new images through the FTP site using FileZilla.
